I have a friend who's been a manic Magic player ever since I can remember, probably for as long as the game's been going. As such, and since she always had a lot of spare income, she's got a pretty full collection of cards from over the years. I wouldn't say every card, but a lot!

So anyway, I went around hers once and she invited me to a game. Now I'm almost the entire opposite of her, I've never played Magic before. So we devised our own, simple little game using a subset of the cards. The rules are that each player is dealt seven cards, and then the game pretty much plays itself to be honest. I'll show you how the first couple of hands worked.

I dealt the first hand, so I laid the first card. I decided to lay my Benalish Trapper. In response, my friend played her Skyhunter Skirmisher. Luckily, I had a Zealots en-Dal, but she countered with Lightning Hounds. I scraped away with Wild Mammoth, which she couldn't counter so I won. In total I won 1,233 points for the hand. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the points won take into account all of the cards, in everyone's hands, not just the cards that were played.

This time, my friend dealt so she had first play. Dealer alternates between the players, see, and dealer always gets the first turn. Anyway, my friend played Rampart Crawler first, which I easily countered with Leaden Myr, though I could have used Wormfang Manta if I wanted to show off. After that, her game plan went into play as she whipped out a Necrotic Sliver. I struggled, but found my Carnophage to block. She kept attacking though, this time with a Daru Lancer, but I managed to play a Gustcloak Skirmisher. I was lucky, she couldn't play any longer and I won the hand again, grabbing myself another 1,076 points.
